This _is_ strange...  I have similar problems on my i-opener, but it's 
running FreeBSD, and using the Kawasaki USB Ethernet driver.
Occasionally, and always in the middle of a transfer, I start getting
messages about "kue0: watchdog timeout" and I have to unplug and
reconnect the adapter.

Someone on comp.unix.freebsd.misc mentioned that it's some kind of
known problem in the miipass driver, whatever that means.  Do the
FreeBSD and Linux USB stacks share any code?  This is kind of a weird
coincidence, I think...
