Nope :-).. But I've just been playing this game as well, and I've ordered a Creative Video Blaster Webcam 5 for a project I'm working on... $99+GST
I currently have a cheap-o Dick smith one which only works under windows (conextant chipset) so I've been running a Linux machine, and the windows one side by side and ftp'ing the images from the cam every 5 seconds to the Linux machine.. The problem I've had is that all of the webcams that have (easy) Linux support seem to be out of stock. The Logitech's are back ordered everywhere I tried, as is is the Creative one. Not much help I know, but you're not alone in the search.. Philips used to be the best bet, but Philips don't make web-cams any more.. Not sure why. Cheers, Me. > Has anyone had PERSONAL experience with any of the following web cams > on Linux?? > > I have a project here that I need a web cam for, so I'd rather start > with a known functionable one. > > Note: I haven't found these on any Linux USB Lists. > > ** Hi Res (640x480) ** > >>From Dick Smith: > Chicony Internet Camera > >>From Dove: > Genius USB PC Camera > Genius USB Web Cam > > ** Low Res (352x288 and lower) ** > >>From DSE: > "D"-Cam > Pen Cam > Palm Cam > >>From Dove: > D-Link DSC-100 > > > Mike > > --------------------- > !!!!
