The best thing to do is look at the kernel source and see what is explicitly supported. Then shop for those. I have a USB Logitech quickcam 3000 that runs fine at 640x480 (its in use as a security camera) and an ancient Serial Casio QV11 digital camera (which can be seen at www.avonside.school.nz/webcam.html Whats your budget ?
