Hi there,

Can I beg to differ on that point (I have an ATI card)

Do ATI's drivers support S3TC hardware texture compression yet? I knew once upon a time that people wanting a high-end card to support playing Unreal tournament 2003 in linux were forced to use NVidia cards because ATI's drivers didn't support S3TC (nVidia's drivers do, UT2003 needs S3TC).

If yes, I could consider buying a Radeon 9600 or similar since they are also
well priced and perform admirably under Windows with games that need S3TC...
