There's always a catch, isn't there. installing udev breaks the nvidia display drivers. I didn't build this server, so can't even reinstall them. I'll just shoot the pr*t who did build it next time I see them (:





...the latest nvidia drivers seem to need relinking every time that anything changes. However, my kernel source tree is completely screwed, so I can't do it. As I said, the install of udev broke them, and I can't reinstall them. I'm certainly not saying that they can't be reinstalled, just pointing out a gotcha with this installation.

btw anyone successfully got 2.6.8.1 kernel to work with nvidia 6111 and fedora 2? Mine lock up completely just after login, so back to 2.6.7.
