There's always a catch, isn't there. installing udev breaks the nvidia display drivers. I didn't build this server, so can't even reinstall them. I'll just shoot the pr*t who did build it next time I see them (:
btw anyone successfully got 2.6.8.1 kernel to work with nvidia 6111 and fedora 2? Mine lock up completely just after login, so back to 2.6.7.
