PS my linux desktop system is Xandros .. its rather good being debian based and all .. crossover office is a great addition to any system that requires M$ stuff .. happy to loan a pair of CDs to anyone wanting to give it a try.
But beware. Xandros wants its own LILO in order to boot. - In using it, forget about GRUB!

Pretty flash tho. One of 'The most Windows-like' Linuxes around, by repute & support offerings - including pricetag. Is it even Free to share?

Why does it need lilo to boot?
If I knew that, I could well still be using it. But Xandros made itself a boot floppy as a second option - no grub. I spent a lot of time trying to boot from grub; conclusion - impossible.

Xandros looks nice, with plenty drivers etc, but the 'supplied package range' nicely iconed in the 'Xandros store' was well short of what Debian has to offer - as a quick impression.

But for retail clients, I accept Paul's point.
