And all round pegs shoved forcefully into square holes.  Guess you haven't
noticed that Linux now covers so much ground, like i386 w/ 16Mb RAM (or
less), to 64bit systems w/ 64Gb RAM, PowerPC, and more.

Only M$ would consider trying to do it all from one code base.
