I'm truly feeling puzzled.  I was not distracted so much as confused by 
the security measures at first.  Eventually (after several new viruses 
went around) I appreciated them and it didn't take long to get used to 
them.  In a few cases, it is a bit of a pain, but you can always log on 
as root and not have any further security issues, if you want (however, 
better have a very good firewall in place if you get on the 'Net -- I 
didn't once and had to reinstall my system -- lost some user files, as 
well.)
