Netgear spun off from Nortel/Bay Networks, and are now completely
independent. They're concentrating on the SMB (Small to Medium Business)
marketplace while Nortel dropped all their products that we were using in
regional ISPs (most notably their Annex 8000 series Remote Access
Controllers) to concentrate on gear for telco central offices.

I suspect that most of the Nortel router and lower end networking folks
ended up at Netgear, which gives them a pretty good pedigree.

On a subject only related by name, does anybody know of a tftp client for
Linux that supports password authentication necessary to do firmware
uploads to the LinkSys BEFVP41 VPN boxes? I found a Mac client which works
fine on my PowerMac G4, but I would prefer a Linux client that I can use on
my laptop.
