Try this on for size. The Muslims who attacked us and have been attacking us have been
doing so
in the name of Jihad. Those who lose their lives in this Holy War are supposed to end
up in
paradise with Allah. In their concept of Jihad every American citizen be he Jew,
Christian,
California Vegetable Worshiper, what have you is a legitimate target. This is not
politics, but
perverted religion. Even the Japanese, in their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor,
concentrated on
military targets not civilians. Yet in the end, we dropped two nukes on them to save
American
lives. If we let the current terrorists get away with it we open the door to making any
American anywhere in the world a target. If we let the foreign governments who have
aided them
to go unpunished we insure that this will keep on happening. The Christian answer just
doesn't
work. Dead people can't turn the other cheek. That leaves only the political solution.
We could
take the traditional road, issue a strongly worded protest and embargo the offending
government's Brazil nuts. Or, we can decide that Americans and anyone else has a right
to live
unmolested by the religion and politics of others and make an example of the offending
government in such a way that not other government dares to follow their lead. If that
means
opening the Kabul Glass pit to tourists, so be it. Before you object, take a look at
the news
on tv showing the joy of the Palestinians after the attack and listen to some of the
Islamic
governments who have told the tv reporters how terrible they feel about that attack,
but that
we did bring it on ourselves. That's not politics that Jihad.
