I'm going to try that first (I think). The SCSI HOW-TO says I need to be selective and not include every conceivable low-level driver or the kernel exceeds the capacity of the boot loader. David Bandel told me how to get my present kernel to tell me what modules are loaded for SCSI and then build these into the kernel.
