glibc 2.2.1 for me. Perhaps that's the issue. I'll get on the oo list and ask. I've also got issues reading some Word 97 docs. One causes so6b to hang, the others are not editable. Some of the xls files I looked at get imported looking as if there's no data, but it's a font issue. If I change the font on the file, everything shows. I still have a problem with named ranges in formulas not translating properly. So I've got good reason to get on that list, I s'pose.
