The reason is that I am very new to Suse and its foibles. I am an old
Slackware and more recently Caldera, from1.2, user and I am finding that Suse
is 'different' in many too many ways. Hence I have never been to a site and
downloaded their kernels, always used my own vanilla massaged kernels, which
I prefer semi monolithic.

I was also unaware that their ftp site carried updated kernels, so will have
to go look and find such animal.

BTW thanks for that!!
