SuSE has (at least in the past) been using ALSA which is not really part of a vanilla kernel. With 7.2, everytime I brought in a new vanilla kernel, I would have to re-install the ALSA sound modules (www.alsa-project.org) however, this past weekend I installed 7.3 pro and also brought in a vanilla 2.4.16 kernel. I included sound in the kernel and it works just fine. I won't be using the ALSA modules anymore. +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
