Actually openshot has had quite a lot of praise in reviews. Rather sadly it's support is mainly for ubuntu/debian, although that doesn't worry me as much as it will some other people :) I suspect it's largely because distros are quite different in their support of key multimedia tools and supporting multiple distros is simply hard work. That's why tools such as mythtv and mplayer keep their own version of the ffmpeg tree, linking against external versions is a recipe for disaster (plus they make their own internal changes). > For fun I searched for openSUSE packages and drew a blank, > but a good list of alternative packages instead, like kdenlive.
