I have used kdenlive (on KDE) and Openshot (on Debian and Linux Mint) The developement for Openshot has been very fast over the last year or so and I now prefer it over kdenlive but I find them both fairly intuitive. For tutorials there are quite a few on their web site which is why I did not even know my "help" was not working.
