As a native writer of Arabic script, I prefer
" A" A (init)
" AB" A (init) B (med)
" ABC" A (init) B (med) C (med)
" ABC " A (init) B (med) C (final)
This is what native Persian editors do, and is different from what
things like MS Word do. In this case, there's minimum change in what the
user sees on the screen, so there'll be less eye problems...

I have seen the former one, and also A (isol) B (init) C (term) in native
Persian editors.
