I have the Dell SP2208WFP monitor with the built in webcam.
It works fine on my old 32-bit athlon system with a 2.6.29
kernel(gentoo), but not on my new 64-bit core2 system with
2.6.29 or 2.6.30. I just get:
uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Monitor Webcam (SP2208WFP) (05a9:2643)
uvcvideo: UVC non compliance - GET_DEF(PROBE) not supported. Enabling
workaround.
uvcvideo: Failed to query (129) UVC probe control : -32 (exp. 26).
uvcvideo: Failed to initialize the device (-5).
no /dev/video at all :-(
Same deal on recent ubuntu and opensuse. Any thoughts or
pointers, could it be as simple as a struct size/alignment
issue or the 32/64-bit thing just a red herring? What should
I poke 1st...
Thanks,
-Eli
