i think we are misunderstanding each other quite a lot:

my situation is as following: i got a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and the
standard terminal emulation is a little bit tiny (very tiny indeed). so to
don't stress my eyes i want to resize the window of the terminal emulation
and of course the font size. but as i resize the window, the font size
stays the same. so my question was, if there is any parameter that changes
that.

i allready read the man-pages.
