Uh, hmm. I'm kind of surprised that worked. You should check out the
list's FAQ about mounting Windows drives in Linux. A lot of that can be
applied to your situation here. What you may be experiencing is a
permissions issue, which running as root may fix. However, it's best to
run as root as little as possible so you protect yourself from breaking
things accidentally.
