Hello everyone. I recently checked out videos of Compiz and was
wondering how I could get it to work for me on and old computer. It's
and old Compaq with an S3 Savage integrated chipset. It only has about
250 MB of RAM, but I was wondering if I could get Compiz to work on
such an old computer. I am currently running Debian Etch(stable) and
it doesn't appear to want to use my 3D graphics chips (or know that
they are capable of 3D) Now I have a few questions. How do I find out
exactly what S3 chipset I have on the board? How do I set it up
manually to get as much out of my graphics chipset as possible? Right
now, the processor appears to be doing the heavey lifting as far as
graphics go and I REALLY want Compiz. Does Compiz even work with
Fluxbox? That would be so cool if it did. Any help would be appreciated.
