I have thus far tried Red Hat, Fedora, PCLinuxOS, Mepis, Ubuntu, and
finally Mint. I use Red Hat on my server and Mint for my laptop.
Red Hat is OK, but I am really in love with Mint and these are the
reasons:
1. It is based on Ubuntu so all positives about Ubuntu pretty much
apply to Mint.
2. The Debian installer is SOOO far superior to RPM there is no
real comparison
3. Unlike Ubuntu, Mint goes the extra mile to make all of the
devices work on my laptop including networking and wireless.
4. With Mint, I have the choice of creating a root user
5. All packages set up for Debian I have used worked on Mint without
issue.
