Your questions are 'fuzzy' and 'random'.

Your questions are not 'clueful':

clue·ful / ˈkloōfəl/ • adj. inf. well-informed; competently intelligent.

'Multimedia' and 'security' are totally unrelated terms. 'Multimedia' at
least does have a fairly specific definition. 'Security' is too general
a term... it could mean too many things, so your question might be more
precise if you explain what specific type of 'security' you are
referring to.

Check out:http://linuxsilo.net/docs/smart-questions_en.html

The root document, written by esr (Eric S. Raymond), can usually be
found at: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

...but is currently not responding, so I resorted to a fall-back copy of
the document.

'Security' is not a commodity, that can be purchased, downloaded and
installed. It is something that has to be earned and learned. It is a
way of thinking.

You look both ways before crossing the street.

You don't leave your laptop in plain view in your car, in the mall
parking lot.

You don't click on links received in random, spammish emails promising
you things that seem too good to be true, and you close browser pop-ups
that warn you that your computer is under attack by some TERRIBLE
computer virus, and if you don't click the download and install link
IMMEDIATELY, the virus will DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER!!!!!

You can't buy 'security'. it's something you have to internalise, and
make into a habit, simply by 'living smart'.

Avoid dangerous neighbourhoods, especially at night.

Don't vacation in Somalia... Disney World in Florida might be more fun,
and more healthy.

Don't go porn surfing.

When you want to find an app of some sort, like a text editor or a flash
movie player, go to SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/ instead of just
downloading something from the Net... there's a much better chance that
the app will be clean and well-tested. it might have some bugs, because
SourceForge is a place where programmers publish their work, and source
code is NEVER, EVER, EVER a 'done deal'... there are always bugs to be
found, and improvements to be made. That is the nature of code.

In closing:

You might want to consider running a regular MUA (Mail User Agent) like
Thunderbird, as opposed to the Yahoo Groups Message Poster.

I too, have used it in a pinch, but it is pretty primitive, compared to
Thunderbird. The one advantage it does have, is that your email is
accessible from any computer in the world, if you have to log in from a
strange computer, like at a library or internet cafe.
