James is back from vacation -- er, I mean UC Berkeley, and is once again
making life better for the 440GX port.
He has determined that the frame buffer on the 440gx works fine under
LinuxBIOS in test11 with fbdev. Great news. I just committed two of his
changes to the 440gx north and southbridge code to make this happen.
He is also getting SMP going again, this time under test11.
Overall, things are more stable now. We are committing changes and seeing
less startup failure. This is good news.
The Acer and VIA ports are still stuck on memory issues, but we hope to
get that fixed soon.
We're testing a commercial vendor's linuxbios flash parts now. We hope to
see an announcement soon.
Everything here at the Lab will close 12/22, and I will be gone until
1/4/01. So, after Friday, I'll be mostly out of town for two weeks.
