Couple of ideas/issues about the web page(s):
- Staff Page
Currently only myself, Eugene, and Jim are listed. Please drop me
a note if you would also like to be listed. I know what the following
people are working on, but want your ok first to list your name:
Rodolfo - logo
Bill Canedigh - Helping with app list
Gerd-Christian Michalke - Helping with app list, fr and ger. trans.
Timothy - OpenSource Conference (if we can get something there)
I know there are more people that are doing other things, but
don't remember who's doing what. Just drop me a note and I'll add you.
If you want to be added to the staff page, also let me know
if you have a disclaimer to put up on the legal page (like my
"I work for Intel but Intel is not connected to this project").
This is probably only an issue if you work for a large company
in the computer industry.
- Project Diary & News Page
I like the diary idea a lot. I can easilly setup a php script that
would let people post updates. I see this being different from the
main news page as the main page is for major announcements/changes,
while the diary page would be where we could sort of keep a log
of what we're all doing. I think it'd be interesting.
I'm going to give some people on this list access to the News posting
page in addition to the diary page. That way, when a new sponsor jumps
on board, Jim can post an announcement right away instead of mailing
me and than having me post it. It'll just make life easier. Following
is the list of people who will have news post/diary access:
Jim, Eugene, Rodolfo, Bill, Gerd-Christian, Timothy
Once again, I know there are more people working on stuff, so like
above, drop me a note.
- Applications List
Eugene and all others working on the app list, do you want me
to setup a database here with a web front end? If you let me
know the list of fields that you want, I can throw together
the database and frontend. I think I could also fairly easilly
add multiple language support to the fields that need it.
- Non-English Sites
Once I have all the latest work done (faq, demo guidelines, +above),
the next thing I'm going to do is take the templates I've put together
for the main site, clean them up so they can be used in other places,
and make them available as a tar ball. This will allow all the sites
to have a consistent look at feel. Not super important, but nice.
