Well, i'm finally taking a look at this (the server was
down last time i tried), and i'm thinking that i have no
idea of the purpose of this document. So...

Who is the audience of this? Seems to be a press release,
not a flyer. Tons of information, aimed at everyone from
potential sponsors to current linux users to potential
attendees. I thought this was being mailed out to LUGs?
When will this is supposed to be posted around the world
on telephone poles? In short, it seems to be trying to be
all things for all people, and in doing so it fails to
catch the attention of anyone.

Visually, I don't like it being split evenly into two
columns all the way down. The logo looks good, though it
isn't balanced by anything (no other color, and everything
is just a bunch of similar text). The slogan is perhaps
the worst part in my mind. There is a .sig on Slashdot
which compares Hitler's "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein
something" quote with a microsoft ad about One World, One
Internet, etc. Or something like that. My point is that
I'm not sure that that is what Linux is about. The "Army
of Geeks" thing seems to reinforce the negative
connotations of the slogan. Visually, the words seem
unbalanced as they almost look pyramidal, but "one
operating system" breaks that.

So here are my suggestions, which call for some major
revisions. :)

First, decide who this is for. If it is a generic flyer
for LUGs to post, make it focused for newcomers to linux,
simplify it greatly, and leave a space for LUGs to put in
information on who to contact and where it is locally. If
it is for sponsors (isn't it a little late for that?) then
focus the writing towards them. Perhaps multiple flyers
are needed for multiple purposes, i think that would have
a much better impact than this.

Second, rethink the slogan and heading. Break up the
column look. Make the slogan to appeal to the audience,
not to us, and be less inflammatory. :)

Those are my thoughts right now, just my opinions so by
definition they can be argued with. :)
