"I'm a programmer Jim, not a graphic artist"
Seriously though, thanks for all the comments! This is exactly
the sort of feedback I was looking for. I'm going to go through
your and some other people's comments and totally redo the flyer.
As for the purpose/intended audience, it's the atendents of Linux World
Expo, so we are trying to grab attention of:
a) LUG members
b) Potential Sponsors
c) General audience
How does the following sound:
Instead of having all this information on the flyer, we have an easel
that has has large piece of cardboard with a summary of the project goals
printed on it. The flyer just has our logo, project title, dates,
web site, and a bulleted list of the project highlights such as:
- A world wide celebration of Linux!
- Over 75 participating Linux User Groups!
- More than 10 countries represented!
- A great opportunity to reach new Linux users!
- Etc, etc, etc...
Jim, when you get the exhibitor's guide, find out if we need to get
special permission to have an easel in our booth?
Also, I think that the flyers will end up being grayscale due to
cost constraints. The easel and our banner can attract attention. We
just need something that people can take with them to help them remember
the project.
The "One day, ... army of geeks" will go. It had gone away a long
time ago on our webpage, but I thought I'd try it on the flyer.
I will have redone flyer tommorrow night.
