I found afterstep pretty cool. Don't know how good it would be for
someone used to using Windows. The fact is, if we have accounts for
regular users, we could also have them choosing their own window managers.
Give them a default WM, and pop up a tip of the day message when they log
in that tells them what they can do. Changing window managers would be
one such thing. Hopefully, users would get so interested in being able to
change the look of their system that they may even become home converts to
linux.
What Nagarjuna says is correct. We should make comparisons between all
window managers, and also against MS Windows. That way we will be able to
identify which is the best WM to set as default. These comparisons should
not be limited to WMs only, but also every application that we will be
installing.
