I dont really gree with that. Just making the GUI "more windowslike"
appears like a false solution. Bottom line is that the users still need to
learn the jargon and ways of an entirely new operating system, so why not
use something that is closest to the system itself.
For example, when I first installed linux on my system, I showed my mom the
GNOME interface. Now she is pretty comfortable with things like GNumeric,
GEdit, all the little games, etc. just as she is with similar things under
Windows! She says that both work on the same intuitive "point-and-click"
principle, so theres no big deal relearning it.
