Does lspci show your Cardbus located properly? There are known problems
with it. See my site: http://www.kaotic.co.uk/htmls/r3000/ and that of
Ken Hughes http://www1.pacific.edu/~khughes/presario-r3120us/#pcmcia who
is also on this list. Essentially the same content as I drew on Ken's
invaluable knowledge to sort out the problems I was having.
