     I do not know, for sure, the answer to your question.  So, perhaps
I am leading you down a dead end.  Yet, I wonder if you can figured out
which modeline is being used by looking at the X server's log in
/var/logs.  When I execute the following command:

more /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep _active | more

it gives me this:
