I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex). It installs a driver called "eeepc". Not sure what it does, but it didn't support the wireless card out of the box per say.
I had to download the madwifi source which includes the "ath_pci" and the "ath_hal" drivers that will be needed. I'm not sure if your particular EeePC uses the same drivers as my 7 inch model. After removing the original "ath_pci" and "ath_hal", it was just a matter of untarring and building the drivers. Ubuntu looks good on the EeePC. --Manny On Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 2:24 PM, Dante Lanznaster <[email protected]> wrote: > What you're looking for is eeebuntu. > http://www.eeebuntu.org > > I never tried it, but when I had the eeepc I used regular ubuntu. > > On Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 3:02 AM, Jeff Lasman <[email protected]> wrote: >> I'm having a lot of fun with my new Eee-PC "netbook". >> >> I've decided the built-in software is a bit, shall I say, >> "underwhelming". >> >> I'd appreciate input onlist from anyone using Ubuntu.
