On desktops I see no reason for LTS; after all I'm still running 
Mandriva 2005 LE on the desktop on which I'm writing this.  Behind a 
NATted firewall, of course.  I want the latest fetures for the longest 
time.

I tried an extension a few years ago; it simply didn't work for me.  
Maybe better these days.  I believe I saw the feature in Evolution, as 
well.  I'll look, but I may stick with KMail.
