I don't see Microsoft sinking anytime soon, maybe in 15-25 years. One of the main reasons is because its a stable name, and the product of Microsoft is well known. Apple is starting to do the same thing, there name and product is getting to be well known, but still has a long ways to go. With Linux and Open Source Software , its a moving target. Between Redhat, SuSE/Novel, and Ubuntu things are always changing. The most stable thing in the Linux OSS world is the name "Redhat", even Open Office is in flux. How many years till Ubuntu gets replaced by something else? We even have 2 competing desktops, or how long till Xorg is replaced by something else? OSS is not stable, and normal people want stable, most definitely business. -- MrEcho
