I hadn't thought of that; so apparently Ubuntu follows the opposite pattern of 
Windows - where you want to avoid the initial major point level release and 
wait until at least the first service pack comes out!  :-)

Sadly, I haven't encountered these problems (yet). We'll soon see.

However, I rarely jump into the x.10 Ubuntu versions and prefers the x.04 
versions because I have never experienced crashes with those builds since. Case 
in point, I got crashes on previous 5.10, 6.10, 7.10, and 8.10 Ubuntus and none 
so far on the x.04 versions.
