With udev, its the task of the driver to spawn extra devices and it
does so for the default 3 sinice hal was removed. With UDEV based
configuration, you configure the driver for X with an in InputClass
config niplet file in /etc/xorg.conf.d/. Example file should already
exist in the system, its called 50-wacom.conf

Currently the driver does not support spawning devices for extra pens
in intuos and cintiq devices. I have however made a patch that I have
posted here I belive. Applying that parch allows you to specify
serials in the config file you wish to spawn devices for when the
tablet is hotplugged. I use this myself rather successfully.
