The thing is, Wacom tablets are not the only ones reporting tilt. The way they report it is not the most straightforward and is not consistent with the HID spec. At least aiptek driver uses 0-centered tilt for quite a while. The Waltop Sirius tablet reports 0-centered tilt and the patch adding support for it was already accepted into the kernel. So, changing wacom driver to 0-centered tilt, would help make evdev protocol more consistent.
