Most of the time I was able to open a task manager window
and kill the process which allowed me to regain control of the system.
Jacob has another solution which sounds better to me - details
below:
It is caused by a dropped network connection. Here is how I fix it. I keep a window open to the command prompt when I have a bad connection. Then I type ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew This will reset your DHCP client and homesite or dreamweaver will popup a message that your connection has been lost. Then just try to save again and you should be good to go.
