Ok just watched 15 and read the synopsis for 16. I will keep my
comment to 15 for this thread.
In general, I pretty much feel the same way as before watching 15. I
am not feeling immersed in the show. With First Gundam and some of
the UC shows, there were flaws yes but it was not tipping me over to
the non-believer side. Take trivial example: the "metal" armor bends
like rubber. How realistic is that? No problem, the mind attributes
that to imperfect animation of a "true" future/alternate history.
When I watch G00, it started me on the fence. If I look for clues
about a better story in the future episodes, there are a lot of hints
in the kind of generally may be right direction(s). But if I watch
only what's in the episodes it feels like I'm watching G or W. It's
entertaining enough, but it's slightly comedic or self-parody. For
G00 it's comedic without being funny. Oh I am getting really tired of
Louise already and Patrick can also take a seat please.
I actually made a couple notes while watching 15. But I don't even
feel motivated enough to write it out in a post now :{
Just make a general/philosophic point: in the run-up to this
Taklamakan operation, there have been plenty plenty of reasons for
Sumeragi, Wang Liu-Mei and gang to get much better prepared and to be
cautious about this operation. Getting caught by the HRL's
communicator network trick once was ok, but getting caught the second
time is ridiculous. And this time it's worst, because they didn't
even notice they'd been tracked up until the moment missiles are in
their face. It's also the third time Allelujah is exposed to Soma,
how come the all-mighty CB can't come up with a helmet (I read
somewhere you can make one with aluminum foil from supermarket).
Why does CB stink so badly all of a sudden? All for dramatic effects
to set the stage for episode 16. It's really too transparent, it's
worse than even Hollywood B-movies.
