Resurrecting an old thread...

I just watched 15 and 16. I think Sumeragi did hint at the Thrones when
Sumeragi mentioned that implementing Plan E2 (or whatever number it was)
would draw out "that MS". At the time they cut immediately to the
Tieren Taozi which makes you think that she was referring to Soma. But
since she didn't know what was actually going on at the battlefield, as
shown by how long it took them to send Virtue and Exia as backup, I
don't think Soma was a pig part of her plans. And even if she was
accounting for Soma there is no reason to believe that she would think
ONLY a certain plan would draw Soma into the conflict. I think she was
hesitant to implement Plan E2 because she knew it would bring the
Thrones into the conflict. I think that it is possible that she is an
alcoholic because she knows how deep CB's plan runs.

I would argue that if there's a group like you describe, then most
likely the entire Ptolemais group fits that description. There hasn't
been so much as a hint that Trinity exists prior to their appearance in
the episode 14 OP. You'd expect at least a vague comment about them
from Sumeragi or Tierie otherwise (in one of the latter's rants,
perhaps). Sumeragi, bridge crew, and the four Gundam Meisters are all
in that group. The Chinese pair might be as well. Corner probably
isn't, though. I suspect his odd comment in episode 15 had something to
do with the deployment of Trinity.

The strange thing, though, is that the OP suggests that Trinity will
actually be fighting against the Ptolemais's Gundam Meisters. I can see
Setsuna getting into a quarrel with them. Lock-On perhaps.
Allelujah/Hallelujah could conceivably have a split personality moment.
But Tierie? The die-hard who's so much a true believer that he gets on
everyone elses' nerves?

Best moment of episode 15 - the cocky Alaskan ace going in for the kill
on Lockon... and getting picked off at point blank range by one of
Dynames's pistols.

Most embarassing moment of episode 15 - Virtue getting restrained by...
PATRICK!?

I think there is a theory that this group of Gundams are just
the grunts - so the higher ups don't really care THAT much if they do
screw up...
