As Graham notes in Episode 1, a Gundam in GN 00 is a mobile suit that has "Gundam" written on its head.
:P On a more serious note, building new mobile suits using Solar Furnaces and calling them Gundams would be a good PR move on the part of the super powers. It lets the world at large know that they've got mobile suits that can stand up to CB and defend the interests of the powers. There's a few little niggling details, though... The first is that I thought it had been suggested earlier (possibly by Eifmann right before he was killed) that Solar Furnaces could only be built out near Jupiter. And that facility appears to have been wrecked. So even if there was a decision to mass produce, most likely they'd only be the "counterfeit" Furnaces, as opposed to the actual self-recharging versions that the Ptolemais's Gundam Meisters use. Eifmann realized that the GN Drives meant that the Gundams were connected to the Jupiter project. And that meant something to him. So you've got the additional specter of the fact that the whole thing might be a plot on the part of the CB master organization (whether that happens to be). I'm suddenly reminded of the "space whale" that was discovered out near Jupiter in the back story to Gundam SEED, though I'm not entirely sure why. We never did find out if that thing actually had any significance. I'm guessing that sooner or later, Billy's going to manage to pick up where Eifmann left off, and figure out what Eifmann had discovered. That practically guarantees that Graham will know. I wouldn't mind seeing Graham pilot a Gundam, though. Or Sergei. Soma needs to develop a little more, though. I think it's about time we had another episode focusing on the HRL's now defunct super soldier project, presumeably with Sergei finally figuring out Allelujah's identity. In Gundam 00, I thought a MS with the GN drive is called Gundam, so even if they are fake GN drives, we can call them "Gundam," right? :)
