I suspect that the Trial system may have an IFF system, so that it doesn't take down everything in line of sight.
On the subject of the name Laguna/Ragna/Lagna, I stick more to the idea of Lagna, as it dovetails nicely into the use of the name Veda. It's possible that Celestial Being itself is already factionalized to the point that while there is a basic philosophy, there are very different ways to approach the same goal, coming from different groups in the organization.
