Vint,

This was not intended to be an advertisement in any way shap or form,
although I do see how some may have mis-interpreted it that way.

The intention was solely to foster a separate discussion regarding
IPv8, a topic which is not popular on the IETF and IFWP lists. That
lack of popularity does not in any way diminish the need for
discussion. There is, at times, a confining thread to the discussions
held on these lists. An open forum, where all opinions are voiced
without reservation, will only help us all.

I am responding to you directly (and copying the lists) because,
unlike many others, you at least took a professional tone in your
correspondence. I undersatand your concern, and I agree with your
statement. Again, my intent is to offer an alternative discussion
area for an ON TOPIC subject that is ripe for discussion, but maligned
in the lists.

IPv8 does offer potential solutions for Internet addressing schema and
domain space issues. There has, however, been no constructive
discussion about it in many months. This is an attempt to re-open the
discussion without putting those discussions on the existing lists.
If you feel there is benefit or reason to create and maintain a
separate discussion list for IPv8 within the IETF or ISOC structures,
please advise.

I would invite you or anyone interested in discussing IPv8 to drop me
a message, and I will extend an individual, personal invitation to the
discussion community. In the future, I will not use the Excite
invitation manager to send these messages.

My apologies for the confusion, but not for the content.

Regards,

Gene Marsh
Diebod Incorporated

kindly cease using the ietf and internet society mailing lists
for advertising. They are not intended for that purpose.
