Scarcely. This was an issue covered in heated discussions by the
EC POP group after the Brussels meeting and then again at the Geneva
IFWP conference in July last year. The EC POP consensus was that the
initial or interim board should only take those decisions necessary
to get the real board going.

With that I must agree. The actions of the ICANN board have been
well beyond the worst scenarios that we discussed in those naive
discussions last year.
