I run a FrankenBox with a TT fanless CPU cooler. Unfortunately for the noise levels, the fan on the graphics card is the same kind of CPU fan that Pentium 200's used to use.
It makes some sound, but it's not nearly as loud as a typical server. There are some websites that get heavily into zero noise computers, since that's also preferable for home entertainment systems. Among the best bets are to use larger, but slower fans, heat pipes, and stuff sound insulation in the box. And get a fanless power supply.
