Thanks,

Ralph

After you left the meeting last, there was a discussion on the next
meeting topic, and DNS was brought up by several people as a topic of
interest.

Ok well we can take that into consideration. Maybe do a presentation on that in January or February. Really up to the group. I was just thinking
to keep things really light with no formal presentation for December.
Given thats it 4 days before Christmas, for those that recognize and
celebrate that holiday.

As for deciding on meeting topics, its fine to take suggestions at the
meetings. But I am not sure if we should always decided on topics, or
just poll the people who show at that current meeting. Might be
excluding others opinions and such.

Thats providing anyone on list provides an opinion. Seems we might be
getting more feedback from those showing up to presentations than on
list. If thats the case, then lets cater to those that show, and as for
the rest. Happy to cater to others, once we know they exist by casting
their opinions on list ;)

I know I can cover the basics, by might need you to fill in some
dynamic dns holes.

Well I don't do much with dynamic DNS stuff. I have always run my own
dns servers and had static mappings for my stuff. Even the few things
that rely on dynamic public ips rarely change and I just do static dns. Only changed 3-4 times in ~8yrs. Most everything else is already static
IP so never had the need.

Though I am sure others can fill in on any dynamic stuff. My experience is with bind DNS servers, config, zones, multiple networks/views, etc.

If someone wants to do a presentation on DNS, we can have a regular
presentation in December. Just wanted to keep things light, but either
way :)
