What you use to make it happen is some what moot. Yes ideally it would be Linux based given the group, and should be several ways to make that happen. Can always start with Mac, and then switch to a Linux when feasible. Also take things in steps, most important is recordings, which can be uploaded, viewed later, etc. Not sure we really need to stream live, but that would be more step two, icing on the cake. Now keep in mind, while live streaming is good, remote viewers could not participate, just watch. Ideally any form of streaming would allow for participation as well, two way. Though for obvious reasons would not be able to see or talk to the remote viewer. But maybe some form of chat or something. Maybe we create a JaxLUG IRC channel, which we can use in conjunction with a live stream. Unless the streaming solution includes some form of two way communication. > Would love more input or perhaps someone with more experience or equipment > (multi-cameras can't hurt! ) but in the absence of that, I shall continue to > forge ahead. That is likely a common feeling and saying in many ares regarding FOSS and other community based things. Don't worry about lack of experience, or minimal equipment. Most times something is better than nothing, and things can always be improved as they go along. The more you forge ahead, the more likely to get feedback from those with experience, etc. If you do nothing, others will do the same. Most times when you start to do something, that alone will start to encourage or motivate others to get involved. Which can be good and bad :) > As far as an adjustment to the meeting dates, I am mostly flexible. Good to know, after a bit more time and feedback. We can see about voting on the matter. But likely would not make any change till May or June. Maybe even July if we want to time it around the middle of the year. Though likely the sooner the better, since some have not been able to attend for quite a while. I don't want to change anything for April, since that was planned out in advance. Not sure if the presenter is available on other times, and just best to avoid changing anything for April, IMHO. But if the presenter is ok with it, we can do it sooner than later. Its up to the group, everyone to decide, since its everyone's users group :) -- William L.
