How do they interface via USB? > My initial hope was to have an IRC channel if live streaming is > possible. Someone could then relay questions from the room. Ok we are on the same page there. Again unless some web site that provides streaming service has a solution for such. Same for recording the stream. Though we can always have another machine record locally and use another for streaming. Though I was going to mention getting a IRC channel for the LUG, just hand not gotten around to it yet. I know at one point the JaxJUG had a IRC channel, but pretty sure no one goes in there. I lurked for a bit with a few others, like 2, but really no discussions etc. I haven't had much luck in creating channels on Freenode, which anyone is welcome to take the initiative themselves. Though I was able to get some in Gentoo that were freenode staffers or had contact there to help me get the #firebird channel going. Had to take that over from another who created it I believe for the car owners ;) Prior to getting help, going the normal route through freenode, I was unable to create the channel. With efforts spanning a year, of course not back to back or non stop. Would fill out an application and wait, hear nothing, and try again. But thats not how I got the channel created in the end. The guy who created the one for the JaxJUG is no longer in the area. I can see if I have his email address and can contact him for assistance, guidance, etc. Though I am pretty sure I can still get in touch with Freenode staffers via Gentoo contacts. > Skype is another possibility to give external people voice, but the > delays in transport will make things difficult. We might be able to use that for the streaming. Also skype would allow us to view the remote viewers as well ;) > The primary issue was using one camera and encoding two feeds (SD and > HD). Also I would not be to concerned with HD at first. I think SD will be more than adequate. Not sure we really want HD :) In all honestly I personally do prefer to remain off cam most times. I have tried to keep any pictures of myself from reaching the net, and thus far done a good job of that. Surely the same would apply to any videos. Just some what of a privacy zealot, which really does not exist online, I know this. I just don't want to lose what little privacy I have left, at least not yet.
