Dear JAXLug members,

The openSUSE Project is hosting the openSUSE Summit conference in
Orlando from Friday, September 21-Sunday, September 23. This is an
exciting event that builds on our successful openSUSE Conference held
annually in Europe.

We'd like to invite all your members and the local Florida community to
come join us. As you can see from our program schedule, we have lots of
interesting sessions, and not all are openSUSE-focused. We aimed to
create an event that is appealing both to our community and to the
general open source community.

Registration is 100% free! Just follow the links at
http://summit.opensuse.org for full details.

Already, we are seeing higher than expected attendance. Some events
that may be of interest to you:

- Friday we will have the openSUSE Around The World opening ceremony
hosted by the Vice President of SUSE, Michael Miller and openSUSE
Project Board Member, Andrew Wafaa.

- Register before September 14, and you can gain free admission to the
LPI Exam Cram on Thursday at our parent sponsor's SUSECon conference
beginning at 1 p.m. You'll be able to take the exam on Friday at two
different time slots for a discount rate of $99 offered by Linux
Professional Institute

- We will be making a formal announcement later this week, but I can
tell you now that our Keynote Speaker on Saturday Morning will be
OpenStack's Technical Community Manager, Stefano Mullaffi.

- We provide free meals for the entire weekend. On Friday night,
sponsor ownCloud will host a poolside dinner party with fun contests and
prizes. We will also have a special concert by Honduras musician Luis
Nieto, former director of the Honduras National Band.

On Saturday, sponsor Omnibond will host the Geeko Luau Jam. We'll have
a Hawaiian themed dinner party with a Polynesian dance act. Afterward,
we will host a Geeko Jam Session where attendees are invited to bring
their favorite musical instruments and rock the roof off in a jam
session.

- Registering for openSUSE Summit also gives you free admission to the
final day of SUSECon on Friday where you will be able to access the
Technology Showcase and Closing Keynotes from several industry leaders.

We hope all of you can join us for what promises to be an informative
and exciting weekend.

Sincerely,
Bryen M Yunashko
openSUSE Summit Co-Chair
