This is definitely a tested and confirmed scenario (going with ADK 10 from the
get go)? From
http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2015/08/05/windows-10-adk-and-configuration-manager.aspx:

What about new installs of Configuration Manager 2012? The Windows 8.1 ADK is
still the setup prerequisite so that will need to be used during initial
installation. But afterwards you can follow the above process to install the
newer Windows 10 ADK.

And in the comments people go on to ask about upgrades from older versions of
CM (my situation), and the response:
there's a blurb above about a new install which also applies to an upgrade
scenario. You need to wait to swap out the ADK after you upgrade to R2 SP1.

I don’t want to make things harder than they need to be and my preference is to
go to ADK 10 straight away.

Daniel.

ADK 10 is not a requirement you can go ahead with ADK 8.1 installed and later
upgrade the boot wim's to support Windows 10 deployments, however if deploying
Windows 10 is your goal then go with ADK 10 from the get go

One of the pre-requisites for SP2 / R2 SP1 is ADK 10.
So you will uninstall your existing ADK and install ADK 10 before you even
start the upgrade.

Easiest thing would be to just install SP2, and then enable the R2 bits, and
then install the latest CU for SP2 / R2 SP1.

Hi all,

CM 2012 SP1 CU3 – looking for some guidance on getting this to 2012 R2 SP1 CU1.
From doing some research I think the path forward is SP2->R2->CU1.

I can find guides from last year on how to get SP1 to R2 and recent guides
covering R2 to SP1 but I can’t find anything covering the process I’m trying to
do. I’d also like to incorporate the latest versions of MDT and ADK (for Win10
support).

Daniel.
